Compounding late fees are a thing of the past at the Renfrew Public Library.
The local library joins 300 others across the country who are going fine free.
It’s a move to make library services more accessible under the logic that fines discourage people from accessing services and result in lower patronage.
Instead of snowballing fines on late returns, patrons will have to pay the value of the material they haven’t returned.
