Ontario has amended the Drainage Act for rural landowners and farmers.
According to the provincial government, drainage supports agricultural productivity by reducing nutrient loss and soil erosion on farmlands.
Amendments to the Drainage Act will reduce the regulatory burden and will streamline approvals for farmers and rural landowners undertaking drainage projects.
