A hurdle has been cleared for the proposed Near Surface Disposal Facility at CNL’s Chalk River campus.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has accepted the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the NSDF from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.
It’s a key stage in the environmental assessment process for the Project.
The CNSC will now prepare an Environmental Assessment that will be shared with the Indigenous community and the general public prior to holding Public Hearings on the Near Surface Disposal Facility.
Further details on how to participate will be provided once the Commission Secretariat has announced the two-part hearing dates.
