There’s a severe thunderstorm watch in effect across the Ottawa Valley.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening.
These thunderstorms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts up to 100 km/h, large hail up to 2 cm in diameter and heavy rainfall of 50 mm within an hour.
There is also the risk of an isolated tornado.
The severe thunderstorm watch issued by Environment Canada is in effect for:
- Barry’s Bay – Killaloe
- Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden
- Renfrew – Arnprior – Calabogie
