With two national holidays over the period from June 23rd to July 4th the Sûreté du Québec were busier than police elsewhere.
The SQ is saddened to report nine road fatalities in Quebec over the period.
Police were busy targeting impaired drivers who were under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both- and arrested 188 drivers for related infractions.
The Surete du Quebec reminds you that Construction Industry holidays begin on July 18th this year, and the two-week hiatus will see unattended road barriers left in place.
Police encourage you to take the time to plan your trips well, avoid distractions, wear seat belts and respect speed limits.
The SQ will be out in force to see that you do.
