The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has hit a major milestone in terms of vaccinating local residents against COVID-19.
As of Monday (July 5th, 2021), more than 100,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered at one of the clinics across Renfrew County and District.
The RCDHU says 72.3% of the residents over the age of 12 have received at least one dose (35.6% have received 1 dose; 36.7% have received 2 doses).
Youth aged 12 to 17 are eligible to book an accelerated second dose appointment to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
The health unit says even if you have been vaccinated to maintain physical distance, continue to wear a mask and wash your hands often.
Due to increased vaccine supply and shortened second dose intervals, the RCDHU is urging residents to book an early second dose appointment as soon as possible to help protect our communities and provide the best defense against variants of concern.
