Proceedings at Arnprior Council continue to attract interest far and wide.
First, it was local struggles to define the term “systemic”, which sparked local debate for several months and involved two separate decisions from the Town’s Integrity Commissioner.
Then, at the June 14th municipal meeting, County Councillor Dan Lynch chewed the shoe leather when he appeared to compare members of the trans gender community with aliens when he voted against the installation of a pink white and blue crosswalk proposed for the intersection of John and Madawaska.
An Ottawa resident who works as a professional counsellor and a senior member of that city’s LGBT community is claiming credit for extracting an apology from Lynch, which reads in part: “It certainly was not my intention to make that comparison or to hurt or insult anyone.”
