Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Provincial Parliament John Yakabuski says it has been a privilege to serve the Doug Ford government for the past three years as a member of the Ontario Cabinet.
The MPP says when named to an inner-circle post, the expectation is that the appointment also comes with its own undetermined end-date.
Yak says as MNRF Minister, it’s been his privilege to help undo a defeatist culture the portfolio inherited from the previous administration, and the highlight from his tenure as Transportation Minister was being able to announce the long-promised four-laning of Highway 17.
The MPP says he will now devote more of his time to serving as the local member for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke; not that the record would indicate the constituency has in any way been neglected during his eighteen year tenure as sitting member.
Yakabuski will summarize his thoughts in more detail for a newspaper column to appear Friday.
