A heat warning is in effect for the Ottawa Valley, including Renfrew, Cobden, Arnprior, Calabogie, Pembroke and Petawawa.
As of 3:00pm on Sunday (June 6th, 2021) it’s 33 degrees Celsius, but feeling more like 40 with the humidex.
Environment Canada says a heat event is expected during the next few days with daytime highs of 31 to 33 with overnight lows of 20 to 22.
Risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Stay cool and drink lots of water.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Outdoor workers should also take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
