OPP across Eastern Ontario have participated in Canada Road Safety Week, which came to a conclusion on the Holiday Monday.
Police report that over 1350 charges were laid.
By far and away, speeding tops this year’s list with 1201 infractions.
49 people were charged with failing to wear a seat belt.
Stunt driving saw 27 tickets issued, there were 23 impaireds and 16 individuals cited for distracted driving.
Officers conducted traffic stops on nearly 2500 vehicles between the Quebec border and Quinte West, as well as in Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley.
Police say don’t ease up on the good behaviour- officers across East Region will continue to be out on the roads 24/7 looking for drivers who put lives in danger.
