Arnprior Regional Health has been deemed in a position to resume non-urgent surgeries on its premises.
The announcement, made last Friday (May 21st), means ARH has met Provincial criteria in terms of human resources, supplies and a coordinated regional apporach to assure COVID ramp-ups should this become necessary.
Starting on Thursday (May 27th) (today), ARH will begin non-urgent day surgeries and procedures out of two operating rooms.
Given the continued pressure on our Ottawa hospital partners, Arnprior Regional Health will also provide incremental OR time above its previous levels of operation for Queensway Carleton Hospital’s (QCH) priority cases as well as local priority cases in working through the backlog.
The prioritization of cases is being determined by the clinical teams following MoH guidance.
As we move out of the pandemic and into the proposed normalcy of Provincially-mandated Health Teams, these arrangements between regional partners are slated to continue, as our system moves to a larger geography representing a mix of rural and urban communities.
