Now that the eligibility pool for COVID-19 vaccines has expanded and it’s led to high demand, the public health unit is again warning about “no shows”.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit says it’s now more important than ever that those who cannot make their vaccine appointments, to cancel them.
Top doc, Dr. Robert Cushman says there’s been recent instances of no shows at local clinics which resulted 40 to 150 vaccine doses public health didn’t have arms for.
To help reduce the number of calls that need to be made, clinics are now overbooking by a small percentage in anticipation of a certain number of no shows per clinic.
