A combined federal-provincial initiative addressing critical health and safety issues associated with water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure has been approved for Arnprior.
Mayor Walter Stack says grant monies will be dedicated to replacement of the Town’s 400mm water main river crossing from the WFP to Decosta Street.
The Mayor says two of the three Madawaska River water main crossings have already been completed in recent times.
He says this is the problematic crossing that interrupted supply to the east side of Town in 2017.
Staff are still hopeful that construction may be able to commence as early as 2022.
The entire project must be substantially complete by October 31st, 2026 per terms of the grant.
