The not-for-profit tree planting organization, Forests Ontario, is working with local planting partners to plant 47,000 trees in Renfrew County in 2021.
To keep to the Spring schedule, Forests Ontario has distributed COVID-19 field work recommendations and guidelines to all planting partners.
The Forest Ontario 50 MTP provides financial and technical assistance to landowners who wish to plant a minimum of 500 trees on their property.
For full partners the 50 MTP pays for an average of 75 to 90 per cent of tree planting costs.
Some landowners may even qualify for the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program (MFTIP), reducing your municipal taxes to just 25 per cent for eligible residential forest properties.
Forests Ontario also offers an Over-The-Counter program with trees at discounted rates for landowners and organizations who are unable to meet the minimum tree requirement.
