Renfrew County’s top doctor is in favour of keeping Ontario’s COVID-19 restrictions in place for the time being. Dr. Cushman, Acting Medical Officer of Health for the RCDHU also says it’s a good thing schools are closed as well.
Cushman also says the variants continue to attack the younger and working population so it’s important to get the next generation vaccinated as soon as possible, but now is not the time to ease restrictions.
The RCDHU is hoping to have 70 percent herd immunity in Renfrew County in the next couple of weeks. Regardless, Cushman says he supports keeping the restrictions in place.
