Renfrew county’s top doctor says it’s important to get a COVID-19 vaccine if you’re pregnant. Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Cushman says the disease is much more aggressive in pregnancy. With the majority of pregnant women under the age of 40, Cushman says at this point they will not be using the AstraZeneca vaccine. He adds anyone identified as a high risk pregnancy should contact their family physician beforehand.
