The Renfrew Fire Department was called out to a house fire this morning in the 100 block of Bank Street South.
Fire Chief Kevin Walsh says crews responded just after 9:30, attacking a fire on the exterior of the building.
According to Walsh, all occupants had safely escaped the building and suffered no injuries (though they were assessed by paramedics to ensure there was no harm from any potential smoke inhalation).
Continuing, Walsh adds that crews removed the building’s exterior cladding to ensure the fire didn’t extend into the building.
In total, 16 staff from Renfrew Fire battled the blaze, completing their work with no injuries.
Walsh says that Renfrew Fire appreciated the quick support from County Paramedics, OPP from the Renfrew Detachment and the team from Renfrew Hydro.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and a damage estimate has not yet been established.
