COVID concerns in Arnprior aren’t limited to the discovery of a variant of concern amongst the student population at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, where a Grade 7 student became infected through contact with an older sibling.
In Dr. Robert Cushman’s biweekly briefing for Renfrew County Mayors and Chief Administrative Officers, the Acting Medical Officer of Health indicated that 61 percent of new COVID cases in the County are now the virus variants, and Arnprior has become an area of heightened worry due to residents’ activities.
Better public cooperation is needed including wearing a mask (even outside); limiting contacts to members of your household alone, maintaining social distancing and only venturing outside quickly for needed essentials.
