Local residents displaying certain High-Risk Health Conditions are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations in the RCDHU catchment area.
The Province has updated its guidelines to include Organ transplant recipients, Stem cell transplant recipients, those with neurological diseases in which the breathing function may be impacted (e.g., motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, ALS, acquired brain injury), Haematological malignancy (acute lymphocytic (ALL), chronic lymphocytic (CLL), acute myeloid (AML), chronic myeloid (CML)), myeloma, and lymphoma (Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s (NHL)), some Kidney disease and Obesity factors.
You are also eligible if you are undergoing chemo, steroid treatments or have lupus, or either Intellectual or developmental disabilities (e.g., Down Syndrome)
If you are unsure if you qualify based on this list, speak to your primary care provider or specialist.
If you are able to have a family member or friend help you register online, this is the best way to do so- but otherwise call the RCDHU at 1-800-267-1097, Ext. 200. Do not call this booking line for any other purpose- and leave only one message then wait for someone to get back to you.
Please note that all vaccinations currently taking place are for those receiving their first dose only. All second doses, except for a minority of classifications will be administered 16 weeks after the first.
