Arnprior Mayor Walter Stack says, “Don’t let your guard down.”
Given that both Ottawa and neighbouring Leeds-Grenville-Lanark have moved from yellow to red COVID zones, it’s inevitable that nearby residents may visit our community to both shop and dine in a less-restrictive climate.
Stack warns that COVID variants-of-concern not found locally are present in the big city and we can only fight the virus by strictly adhering to all prootcols for its prevention: mask wearing, social distancing, frequent hand-washing, self-assessment and relying on the COVID Alert App to facilitate contact tracing.
The Mayor quotes our Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Cushman, who says, “The third wave with the more dangerous variants has arrived in Ottawa. Public health measures are now more important than ever. Avoid travel to and from Renfrew County and keep your groupings to a minimum.”
10 thousand people have already been vaccinated within the RCDHU catchment area.

Stay home and stay safe, says the Mayor.
