Dr. Ronald Lavigne receives vaccine from nurse Sue McLaughlin at a Renfrew Victoria Hospital clinic.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) says weekly shipments of COVID-19 vaccines are arriving.
As of March 14th, 2021, the RCDHU says a total of 8,614 doses had been administered to local residents.
The RCDHU says after those individuals aged 80 years and above, Indigenous adults 55 and over, and high priority health care workers have been vaccinated, the next groups for vaccine eligibility will include all Indigenous adults and adults receiving chronic home care.
Specific timing for these next groups is not yet known and communication will be sent out as soon as it is known.
