Despite COVID-19, Garrison Petawawa still stepped up to support the United Way. As part of the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign between September and December, the Garrison raised $56,000 and surpassed its $50,000 fundraising target. Donations from 2 Field Ambulance made up the largest sum of collective contributions, totaling $8,644. More than $17,950.00 was raised through e-pledges, which allows individual members to contribute in a contactless method through one-time or repeating monthly donations. 4 CDSG Corporate Services had the highest average donations – $63.81 per member. Funds raised are managed by the United Way on behalf of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and are used to help support local initiatives in and around the communities where garrison personnel and their families live.
