The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has assisted the investigation into a reported stolen motor vehicle from Quebec.
On Saturday morning (March 6th) about 10:20AM officers spotted a stolen SUV on Pembroke Street East, near to Highway 148.
Police conducted a traffic stop and subsequently charged 35 year-old Simon Deschenes-Allard of Carleton Place with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, and Mischief under $5000.
He was further given a Provincial Offences Act notice for driving a vehicle with cannabis in plain view, contrary to the Cannabis Control Act.
The vehicle was returned to its owner.
The accused was released on conditions, with a court appearance in Pembroke slated for May 18th.
