To help Grove Nursing Home residents feel at home in their new digs this August, each will have a special gift, courtesy of the Arnprior & McNab-Braeside Men’s Shed.
Men’s Shed volunteers are crafting 96 individual “memory boxes”- one for each resident.
The memory boxes will be installed outside of each resident’s room, to allow individuals to display and share their life story.
The Men’s Shed is targeting the completion of the 96 boxes by June 2021.
Community partners have stepped to the plate to provide materials: Rona, Gilks Sports & Promo, Arnprior Glass – Johns Glass and McDonald Brothers Construction are all making a contribution towards the installation. Local businesses are also welcome to support the initiative through a $500 sponsorship.
As well, community members are invited to Adopt a Memory Box through a $175 donation.
Each donor will be recognized on a beautiful and theme-specific donor wall at The Grove.
