The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reporting a large increase in COVID-19 vaccines that have been distributed.
As of February 28th, a total of 2,429 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Renfrew County and District.
Several COVID-19 vaccination clinics were held over the last week across Renfrew County and District to provide first doses to long-term care (LTC) and high-risk retirement home staff and essential caregivers, as well as prioritized healthcare workers. The delivery of second doses to LTC residents has also been started.
An online, centralized, vaccine booking system is being set up for all local communities.
- The week of January 25th, 2021 there was 406 doses administered.
- The week of February 8th, 2021 there was 502 doses administered.
- The week of February 22nd, 2021 there was 1,521 doses administered.

The health unit is asking you to refrain from calling your primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner) about adding your name to a list or inquiring about how to book an appointment. You should, however, contact your primary care provider if you have questions about your personal health status before you receive the vaccine.
Alternatively, if you are without a primary care provider, you can contact the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre (1-844-727-6404) to consult with a family physician.
The Renfrew County and District COVID-19 Vaccine Communications Committee is comprised of representatives from local hospitals including Arnprior Regional Health, Arnprior & District Family Health Team, Deep River and District Hospital, Pembroke Regional Hospital, Renfrew Victoria Hospital, and St. Francis Memorial Hospital, in addition to the County of Renfrew, Renfrew County Virtual Triage Assessment Centre (RC VTAC), Renfrew County Paramedics, Algonquins of Pikwakanagan and Renfrew County and District Health Unit.
