The County of Renfrew has been notified of a positive of COVID-19 case in a resident at Miramichi Lodge long-term care home in Pembroke.
Staff were made aware on Sunday evening of a positive COVID-19 test result involving a resident at the Lodge who lives on Home Area 3A.
The resident had been isolated at the Home since staff learned the individual had come in contact with a person who tested positive.
Out of an abundance of caution, Miramichi Lodge is testing all residents and employees.
All general visits to the Home remain suspended, however designated essential caregivers are still permitted; one per resident per visit.
Warden of the County of Renfrew, Debbie Robinson, says this is unfortunate news and wishes the resident a speedy recovery. She adds that rigorous infection management practices and procedures remain in place at Miramichi Lodge and is hopeful that no other residents or staff test positive.
Director of Long-Term Care, Shelley Sheedy says the health and safety of residents and employees remains their top priority. Sheedy says they continue to follow the advice from Public Health and are following all provincial guidelines to ensure people are protected while providing care and delivering essential services to residents.
