The Acting Medical Officer of Health with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) supports a regional reopening to local businesses. Dr. Robert Cushman says our economy should reflect the number of cases we have locally and he adds Renfrew County is in a position to start lifting some of the sanctions.
Cushman says the COVID-19 situation in Renfrew County can change quickly and he stresses the importance of following public health measures to keep cases low.
The Acting Medical Officer of Health with the RCDHU says he would like to see the economy open up the way schools have opened up, but if cases in our area spike, that would complicate things.
Cushman says with cases starting to decrease, it shows the lockdown works. He adds if we start to lift sanctions and want to avoid another lockdown, people will really have to do their best to keep the numbers low.
