As we wait for the arrival of vaccines in the Valley, there are things that can be done to make sure we’re prepared when they get here.
Chief Executive Officer with Arnprior Regional Health, Eric Hanna, says staff education is one of those.
At first blush you would think frontline workers at these facilities would rush to be first in line for their jabs to assure the safety of themselves and their families, and protect patients and residents from possible COVID exposure.
But Hanna says, given that we’re dealing with a new product crafted with the new MRNA process, there is some vaccine hesitancy that should be addressed.
It’s not so much the ideological opposition that we see in the States- but rather concerns about allergies and medical conditions, and how these may interact with the injection.
