A Renfrew business owner says he isn’t getting straight answers as to why a family hairdressing salon has been forced to shutter once again due to a second COVID shut down. Andrew Dick and his spouse operate Landella in Renfrew, and he’s frustrated.
Dick maintains there’s no evidence that anyone in Ontario has contracted COVID after visiting a hair salon. The Landella owner believes there’s an advocacy role the RCDHU should be playing, rather than just focusing on enforcement. Dick says the first lockdown left Landella financially strapped, and now that there’s an operating incentive being offered by Queen’s Park, the sole-proprietorship is too small to qualify.
