The Central Canada Hockey League has revised its plans for the proposed 2021 season in the context of Provincial Pandemic regulations.
The season, including HEO U18 play for members teams will not begin prior to an earliest resumption date of February 11th.
A number of options are being considered depending on receiving word from above, indicating the date given by the Province and local health authorities.
Once that comes down the CCHL will immediately be in contact with all league players and families to provide details and start up procedures.
For Junior A players, the plan is to provide competition that hones their skills for possible advancement to higher levels such as the CHL, NCAA, U-Sport and the NHL draft for those eligible.
For the U18 players, the league will work towards showcasing OHL draft eligible players as well as others who are pursuing NCAA options.
The annual Bantam Protected Draft will be tentatively moved to mid-March of this year to allow for our 2006 Showcase Series to take place over the two weekends preceding the draft.
Ensuring the players have the opportunity to skate prior to the draft in a structured setting is a priority.
The patience and support of all concerned is greatly appreciated by everyone in the CCHL.
