Acting Medical Officer of Health for the Renfrew County and District Health Unit is supporting the province’s decision to keep schools closed. Schools across Ontario were supposed to reopen for in person learning today, however, the government decided to keep them close with the continuing spike in COVID-19 cases. Dr. Robert Cushman says school cases have attributed to less than 10 percent of the overall cases in our area, but local numbers continue to grow everyday. He says that luckily, the school outbreaks we’ve had in Renfrew County and District have remained isolated.
