The decision to not send elementary students back to the classroom in Southern Ontario this week was not made lightly. Oldies 107.7 spoke with Education Minister Stephen Lecce says synchronous online learning will continue until it is deemed safe to return.
Over the weekend, Lecce announced the province has expanded the list of essential workers who can receive free child-care to include R-C-M-P officers, custodial and clerical education workers and postal staff. Lecce also says the province is investing more money in making the classroom as safe as can be.
Online classes will continue for southern Ontario students until at least January 25th.
