In case you ever had any doubts, the (Killaloe) OPP are reminding residents that All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), and Extreme-Terrain Vehicles, commonly referred to as Argo’s, as well as Side-by-Side Vehicles that are equipped with “tracks” are NOT permitted on Provincial highways.
The Ontario Highway Traffic Act’s Regulations defines the fine print for the above: the number of wheels each of the off-road vehicles have, and speaks to the fact that the either the tires of these wheels must be in contact with the ground, and/or have no tracks that are in contact with the ground in order for them to be permitted on highways.
Operators found to be travelling on highways with vehicles on tracks could face a fine of $85, plus additional court costs.
