With the forthcoming expansion of the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior comes a new role, and new responsibilities for Judith Gilchrist.
Effective this past Monday (January 4th) the former Director of Care at the Grove Nursing Home, has stepped into the newly established role of Vice President, Long-Term Care at Arnprior Regional Health (ARH).
With a sixty percent capacity increase to occur when the new Grove opens this summer, this new leadership role assures ARH remains consistent with the Ministry of Long-Term Care staffing directives.
ARH Chief Executive Officer Eric Hanna notes Judith meets, and often exceeds, the desired leadership, skills and experiences contained in the new job description.
Gilchrist has more than 25 years of experience in clinical services management and nursing.
Judith’s formal education includes Canadian Gerontological Nurse Certification, holistic health care certification, a nursing diploma and she has completed the administrator certification process.
She also holds a doctorate in Holistic Ministry and is a certified yoga teacher.
Gilchrist has a wealth of community volunteering experience, including with the Rotary Club, United Way and Katimavik.
The new Grove Nursing Home should open in August 2021 and the first part of this year will focus on refining the occupancy plan and the recruitment of additional frontline healthcare workers to support the expansion.
