The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign took place from November 21st, 2020 through January 2nd.
Renfrew OPP officers conducted 108 RIDE checks in the detachment area.
Over the course of Festive RIDE six drivers were charged with impaired driving, over 80mg or refusal.
As well, seven roadside driver’s licence suspensions were also issued during the campaign for drivers who had registered in the warn range through Roadside Screening.
While the Festive RIDE campaign is over, Renfrew OPP say RIDE programs will continue throughout the year at any time of the day or night.
