He wasn’t the first member of his family to catch the political bug, but he was the youngest to get elected to the Provincial Legislature back in 1975.
Sean Conway was named to the Order of Ontario on New Year’s Day.
He spent 28 years as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, and was twice Ontario Minister of Education in the David Peterson Government from 1985-90.
Since leaving office in 2003 Conway has been a successful educator at Queen’s, U of T and Ryerson- but an impending permanent return home could come shortly.
An installation ceremony for the Order of Ontario inductees is planned when circumstances permit.
