The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP has charged a driver after a New Year’s Eve crash in Laurentian Valley.
Police say on December 31st around 3:45pm officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 41 where a passenger car ended up in the ditch.
The driver and passenger were not injured.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to the detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert officer.
Police have charged the 45-year-old from North Algona-Wilberforce Township with operation while impaired by drugs.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
A court date has been set for later this month.
