The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is changing the way they report COVID-19 cases.
The RCDHU COVID-19 dashboard will be updated daily, but information on where new cases are confirmed will only be released twice a week.
The health unit says they seek to provide the most accurate information available in reporting COVID-19 cases.
Health unit staff say because the “case summary” now includes more detailed information they will only provide updates twice a week to reduce inaccurate assumptions or reporting to protect the privacy of residents living with COVID-19.
The RCDHU says they will continue to provide media releases to notify the public of emerging COVID-19 updates, but has still NOT sent any details to local reporters or media outlets regarding an outbreak that was declared at Hospice Renfrew on December 17th.
