Laurentian Valley Reeve Debbie Robinson has been acclaimed as Warden for the County of Renfrew for a second term.
The inaugural meeting took place virtually this morning (Tuesday, December 15th).
Topics discussed included the expansion of broadband, work on Highway 17, the community paramedicine program, a push for sustainable funding for the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre (RCVTAC), the announcement of the 2022 Ontario Winter games coming to Renfrew County in addition to expanding the Algonquin Trail.
Special guests included MP Cheryl Gallant, MPP John Yakabuski, Algonquins of Pikwakanagan Chief Wendy Jocko, Minister of Heritage, Tourism and Sport Lisa McLeod, Garrison Petawawa commander Colonel John Vass along with Mayors from all 17 municipalities in the County of Renfrew and the City of Pembroke.
Warden Robinson says in 2021 the county will continue to work on implementing the Service Delivery Review project and embrace the butterfly model for Bonnechere Manor and Miramichi Lodge.
Robinson was nominated for the Warden’s role by fellow county councillor Michael Donohue with the motion seconded by James Brose.
