UPDATE: EVENT CANCELLED DUE TO CONFLICT OF INTEREST
The What Would Santa Do? foundation has decided to cancel The Santa Cause event in Renfrew, Ontario due to scheduling conflicts with the Renfrew and District Food Bank, which is hosting an event in partnership with the Post Office and the Renfrew Fire Fighters December 5th from 3:30-5:30 as well as a hot Christmas dinner pickup to be scheduled at a later date. Foundation members are now challenging everyone to do one good deed everyday from now until Christmas simply to make the world a little brighter in these still uncertain times.
Now more than ever, the world needs Santa. Some local residents are working together to ensure that as many families as possible have a wonderful Christmas. Katie Skerkowski says if ever there was a time to prove Kindness Matters, it’s 2020.
Skerkowski says it’s vital we spread the word and encourage people to register.
In addition to the gifts, Skerkowski says they want to fill bellies this holiday season as well.
If you or someone you know could use a brighter Christmas this year, contact Skerkowski to place a name on the wish list. The drive-thru ‘gifting’ is Sunday December 20 from 5:30pm to 8:30 at the Ma-Te-Way Activity Centre.
There are varying ways to register, or if you wish, to support with a donation. Call 613-432-6864, email thesantacause2020@gmail.com, or drop off at one of the designated drop off locations; the Opeongo Bowldrome (233 Raglan St. S, Renfrew) or Renfrew Printing (173 Raglan St. S).
