If Ontario doesn’t turn things around, the province could be counting 6,500 new cases of COVID-19 every day by mid-December.
This according to harrowing new projections that public health officials released yesterday afternoon. If the growth rate is at 3% in December, there’ll be 2,500 new daily cases at that time.
Doctor Adalsteinn Brown — one of the experts behind the projections — says that if the growth rate is 5%, the province will reach that 6,500 number.
He says 5% is in line with the current situation, or even — quote — “slightly optimistic.”
