Long-term care homes in Renfrew County are getting funding from the province.
Renfrew Nippising Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski announced today (November 13th) that $17,833,834 will help build build 71 new spaces and upgrade 281 others in our communities.
Marianhill Nursing Home in Pembroke is receiving $9,075,109, helping them build 29 new spaces and upgrade 131 spaces.
The Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior is receiving an additional investment of $ 4,334,048, helping them build 36 new spaces and upgrade 60 spaces.
Valley Manor Nursing Home in Barry’s Bay will receive $4,424,677, helping them build 6 new spaces and upgrade 90 spaces.
Yakabuski says the work underway here will make sure that our loved ones will have a comfortable, modern place to live, near family and friends, with the support they need, when they need it.
The $17.8-million coming to Renfrew County is part of $761-million recently announced by the Ontario government to build and renovate long-term care homes across the province.
As of June 2020, more than 38,500 people were on the waitlist to access a long-term care bed.
