The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association has presented their 3-year strategic plan to the County of Renfrew.
The presentation was made to the Property and Development committee on Tuesday, November 10th.
Mark Bru the owner and operator of Square Timber Brewery made the presentation on behalf of the OVTA.
He says their new vision is to “share the Ottawa Valleys spirit with the world” and a new mission statement to “elevate quality of life in our community through tourism”.
Bru says the tourist association has some big goals and initiatives over the next couple of years.
The OVTA plans to introduce a motorized powersports strategy by May of 2021 and develop a culinary tourism strategy which includes hosting a workshop before October 1st, 2020.
Other projects in the works for the local tourist association include launching a new website, increasing membership, connecting with indigenous leaders and developing a resident engagement program.
