Renfrew Town Council continues to improve municipal streets and hopes the Connecting Links program will help with costs. Reeve Peter Emon says they’ve recently applied for roadwork funding for O’Brien from Gillan to Mask.
He adds the scope of the work also includes filling in ditches for more of an urban feel, as opposed to deep ditch. Emon says they’ve applied for funding through the connecting links program with the expansion of Highway 17 in mind.
The Reeve is confident their application will be given serious consideration for approval.
Emon says the provincial government has taken notice to work down on Raglan, Lisgar and now Stewart Street. In the meantime, core samples are still being collected from the roadway to establish the extent of the work needed. An application was also submitted for additional parking at the tourist information site.
