It’s all systems go for the Lepine Apartments on Barnet Boulevard in Renfrew, as an official groundbreaking ceremony was held on-site Friday morning (October 16th).
Renfrew Reeve Peter Emon spoke on behalf of Council, saying that the Town has all the infrastructure in place to support the expected population growth four-laning will bring.
Over a 15-year period beginning in 2001, Renfrew spent 64 million dollars on infrastructure.
The Lepine apartment complex alone will increase the municipal population by a potential population of 700 individuals when done.
Francis Lepine stressed that while there will be many amenities, the compartmentalized construction techniques will assure unit-individuated airflow.
The Lepine operation is a family enterprise transposed from its Montreal roots to Ottawa, and now embracing the Valley.
We’ll be hearing more from the Lepine family over the course of construction, but Friday’s groundbreaking was a pleasant introduction.
