Flu season is just around the corner, and the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is working with primary care and community partners to plan the local campaign.
Here’s what we know so far: the Ministry of Health will be making flu shots available at clinics, beginning late this month or early in November.
Priority groups will be getting their needles first: long-term care homes, hospitals and primary care.
Because of COVID the clinics are being designed differently, and the RCDHU website will have information on dates and locations for flu shot clinics as news becomes available.
Getting a flu shot this year is more important than it has been, as the healthier you remain, the less strain there is on the Health Care system.
Follow all applicable COVID protocols when attending a Flu Shot Clinic, and consult the RCDHU website for answers to frequently-asked questions on influenza.
