The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation will provide $30,000 to support local charities responding to COVID-19.
Chair Matthew Bradley says as infection rates start to rise again in communities across the country, ongoing support is vital in the fight against COVID-19.
He says they’re thrilled to allow support the sector so they can continue their good work in our community over the long haul.
This is the second round of funding distributed by the Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation as they awarded $75,000 to nine organizations in Renfrew County back in June and July.
On Monday (October 5th) applications for funding started being accepted with the deadline on October 30th.
Grants can be used for a variety of purposes, including to cover staffing or resource needs, purchase assistance and more.
Charities and community organizations are invited to visit the foundation website for eligibility and application details.
The funding was made available through a $350M Emergency Community Support Fund which was created by the government of Canada to support charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations as they manage the impacts of COVID-19.
