The Warden for the County of Renfrew Debbie Robinson says the second wave of COVID-19 is here.
Earlier today, local and provincial government officials along with public health held a virtual video session to discuss the seriousness of the resent spike in cases.
The County Warden says we won the first round, but the fight is far from over.
Dr. Robert Cushman, acting medical officer of health for the RCDHU says we can’t afford to have COVID fatigue. He stressed that social bubbles must remain small and for a percentage of the population, it’s time to get with the program.
Dr. Cushman used a football metaphor saying that the public is the offence and the healthcare system is the defense.
MPP John Yakabuski noted that the province is looking at increasing testing capacity and a quicker turnaround for test results.
