Effective Today (Sep 19), the limits of people allowed at a private residence has been rolled back.
In a rare Saturday press conference, Premier Doug Ford said this is directly related to the increased COVID-19 cases, and people ignoring the rules.
For at least the next 28 days, indoor gatherings are limited to 10 people, and outdoor get togethers are capped at 25. Ford notes parties which exceed these figures could land the hosts $10,000 fines.
Meanwhile, this comes as Ontario is reporting a total of 407 new COVID-19 cases today, marking the second straight day of 400 plus new cases.
The rolling seven-day average of new cases now stands at 312, up from 180 one week ago.
Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said the province set a testing record today, processing nearly 39,000 tests over the past 24 hours.
