The Grove Nursing Home now offers residents and their loved ones more ways they can connect in-person.
Visitor restrictions have been eased (as of Friday September 11th), allowing each resident to have up to two designated caregivers visit in the home.
As well, residents can now leave the home for short stay absences.
Designated caregiver visits are not scheduled or restricted by length of time or frequency.
The designated caregivers must adhere to safety precautions, including a negative COVID-19 test within the previous two weeks.
They will be screened and have their temperatures taken before entry.
The caregiver must wear a medical procedure mask during visits, and cannot check in on any other resident.
You can hug, but only with your loved one; social distancing rules apply with everybody else.
The second new visiting option is short stay absences, where a resident can visit a family member’s home or go for a scenic drive.
In this case the family members must attest to a negative COVID-19 test within the previous two weeks.
Residents must be masked up at all times- along with family members.
The resident cannot attend public places, stores or restaurants.
Upon returning to the Grove, the resident will go through screening and have their temperature taken.
